    good luck.....

I was gonna add more, but I dont think it would help. you have a lot of ground to make up to even match a stock 96 z. I'm not a camero fan, just being realistic. your mention of a tight budget makes me wonder if its possible...

    once again, good luck

I'd weasel my way out of that one if possible. I have a 302 (.030=306 CID),
10.5 CR with good 351W heads, nice cam, headers, hot ignition, well
tuned and fresh. I am sure that I am not putting 250 on the ground.

He has the advantage in hookup with that car and gearing as well.

    Good luck.

    bad bet

Well I'll say what my esteamed colleges won't say(I know my spelling sucks ... get over it, lol) You may have bit yourself in the butt on that bet....although on any given day anything is possible. He could loose traction, blow a tire or an engine...I wish you much luck but have your wallet handy and a humble sad look prepared. Rock and Roll....Jim [IMG]

Are you racing at a race track? If so, don't be scared if you've built a hot motor. If not, don't race, because it's stupid and irresponsible.

maybe he can't drive :p Don't laugh, but I was screwing around with a buddy of mine with an 84 (cross fire) Vette, and I had a 4cyl ranger, and I actually took him, surprised the hell out of me too, but having that 5spd and not being afraid of the limiters took the auto vette. Yes, it was on the street, and yes it was stupid, and yes, I don't think I'll do that again

i think your gonna have problems if you are on a budget. your gonna need some rear end gears and good sticky tires. then a cam and lifter setup. also good heads and springs. good intake and carb. hotter ignition. and thats only starters. those things take money and time. i'd rethink the race and tell him you'll do it when he gets back. then get to working on it.:)

Keep your 500 bucks and put it into your car. Racing for money???????? There is no such thing as a sure bet. A win is as good as money in my book. :yup:

Only on a track will you be sure of who wins though. (y)

i was able 2 talk 2 him today, and he said that we can just do it for fun, so theres no betting now....but i still want to get atleast around 400, that way it will be a close race,,,theres no point in racing each other, if its not going 2 be close,,,and i dont have 2 worry about heads
