Hi there , i have a bit of a problem , my grandpa gave me a Mav but, he used to live in mexico , right now i live in Laredo Texas i was born in laredo texas , but my granparents used to live in mexico in the border with the U.S. cause of the work , so the car is mexican what can i do ?

As a US citizen, you have an exemption of $400 of duty when returning to the US. You should be able to apply to go and get the car and bring it back with a minimal amount of paperwork. to the board! If you are close to the border, stop at a crossing station when they are not real busy and ask them what you need to fill out to bring your Grandfathers car into the US. Cars over 25 years old are exempt from alot of the safety and emissions rules. Since you are 17, you will need a parent or guardian to do all this for you. Good luck!
