Well after buying and selling quite a few things on ebay myself I have finally had a taste of being ripped off. I have contacted PayPal and they are investigating it now.

    Here is what happened........
I bought a column and wheel off a seller that claimed this was a 1970 column with a ignition....now I know from hanging out on here that there was no such column, but the reason I bought it was that it had a Factory Leater Wrapped Wheel on it. Here is the link so you can see it.....

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7981775281&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT

Well, after being jerked around by this guy for about three weeks I finally recived it in the mail and he had removed the wheel and replaced it with a beat up cracked and different color to boot wheel.I imediatly called the police and filed a report. Now that may seem jumpy bu tit isn't.Internet Fraud is a Civil matter and the police do not pursue those cases. But in the ebay help pages it says that a report should be filed locally. Now after seeing the wheel that I bought here is the wheel that was sent to me. Beware of this guy if you are buying on ebay guys, its a pretty good chance he might rip you off.

Good that you let us know, but leaving feedback for him would be better.
I look at seller's feedback all the time.
Go negative and let folks know you can prove it.
Save the pic from the auction and store it with your pic.
    Good luck
    Dave

Only the early 70 Mavericks had the key on the dash, so it could very well be a 70 column. The wheel switcheroo was definitely bad tho! What it showed in the pic should be what shipped on it. I don't remember a leather-wrapped wheel being an option in the Maverick though.

That would definitely be a cool steering wheel to have in your Maverick. Now I am going to have to start looking for one. :)

Most 1970 Mavericks did have the ignition key on the column just like the one you got ... however, swapping steering wheels before shipping is B.S.! I wonder if the steering wheel will pop up in a future auction. Or perhaps somebody saw the wheel and sent him an email asking to buy it ...

His argument will be "It didn't say Leather-Wrapped in the description. you need to read it closer. And, I accidentally attached the wrong picture."

I had a similar situation happen, where it said read the fine print, and there was not only two pages of fine print, but you had to click a link to another website (which I did not do) where the guy "clearly" explains that he ships only once every 6 weeks, and I shouldn't get mad at him for taking so long to ship, as it was "clearly" described in the details. Or some such $hi+. Then when I gave him Neutral feedback, as the part was good (turn signal lens for small bumper mav), he "Blacklisted" me, saying "Neutral may as well be Negative", got all hissy, and said I could never buy from him again.

Damn, now I can never buy turn signal lenses again

His (her) name on e-Bay was dianasueperry. Said he had a truck full of NOS ford parts. Good items, so buy if you find them, just beware of the LONG wait before it ships out.

This is kind of on subject: If you use Firefox (as all the computer guru's say we should), there is a great extension (add on) for it that shows ONLY the negative feedback of an eBay member. I'm always curious as to how a person responds to negative feedback. This is a great tool to locate the negative feedback without having to wade through pages of feedback.

    sorry, back on topic

I would request my money back from paypal if that is how you paid. I would tell them that item is not as pictured. $45 is a rip for shipping a steering column .... You could take the wheel off and ship it for $15. So basically you paid $60 for a steering column that you could have pulled out of any Maverick ... actually most people that swap to a floor shift steering column usually junk or give the old column away ...

I remember that auction. I emailed the seller and asked if he would seperate the wheel from the column in order to put it in a smaller box and ship it...and save on the shipping cost for me. He would not do it. Obvioulsy he seperated them in order to give you a crappy wheel!!

I have purchased from this seller a while ago. I too had to wait a few weeks for the merchandise to arrive but my recollection is that for whatever reason, I knew before I bid that there would be some delay in shipping. I received everything within the promised timeframe.
