Hi all! David Cooper recently sent me a picture of his recently installed powder coated Chrome items that I did for him. It was such a knockout picture that I thought I would share it! He had the hood inches, hood latch, hood latch brace, shock tower caps, and shock tower-to-firewall supports done. As a big thank-you to the MCCI membership (only!) for all of your support in the last year, please send us your washer nozzles (with screws if you would like) and we'll coat them for you in chrome for no charge! Heck, we'll even pick up the return postage 8) Good through the end of April (or until I can think of another freebie)! Thanks for the pictures David! Tracy
Look at that shine!! If my memory serves me, I saw these parts in person and they were really impressive! I've got more pictures I took at Pegasus Powder Coating a couple of weeks ago. Between working again [yes!] and other Maverick picture projects, I haven't gotten around to posting them yet. Tracy, your pictures are next!
Hey, Pegasus- I would like to have my washer nozzles coated. I will gladly pay postage or whatever you need. Where do I send them? Also, I have a question. In an effort to save $$ I purchased non-ceramic coated headers, Hooker Comps, which came in the standard flat black. I know about Jet-Hot coating systems and similar. Can headers be powder coated in an aluminum or ceramic type coating? If you can do this, what would you charge? Do you know of any do-it-yourself alternatives to this or Jet-Hot? I had my intake powdercoated by a guy here in town at the local Harley Davidson shop. An intake is about as big as he can coat due to his oven/cooker size. Thanks- Seth Roberts seth@realtor.com
Ooops, forgot to mention, see our web site for the address! http://www.pegasuspowdercoating.com Seth, We currently do not have the capability to powdercoat using the the high-temp colors as this requires a different gun (the high-temp powders contain silicone, which will permanently contaminate regular powders). We are currently in the process of purchasing a much larger oven (48" x 48") to handle larger items such as headers & such. In addition, I am constructing a 36" x 36" computerized blasting cabinet that will automate our cleaning process and result in a much more uniform cleaning. Currently, about 90% of our time is spent in the preparation phase on an item and we are trying to reduce the labor involved in this step while improving quality. This should result in a much lower cost in the future! If anyone saw "American Chopper" on the Discovery channel last week, I am pleased to say that Orange County Choppers will be sending us three brackets to do in Candy Blue so they can evaluate our work to see if they can outsource some work to us when there local P/C shop is overworked (which happens a lot, I understand). Stay tuned! Thanks, Tracy
