Okay, now to the next part. I have to remove the dash. I have never did this before, nor have I seen anyone do this. Is this hard for 1 person or do I need help? Do the steering wheel have to come out or can I do this with the steering still attach? Do the dash reinforce the car? That might be a stupid question.:hmmm: And with possible, pics or tips would help. Thanks:huh:

You have to take the windsheild out to get to the screws, and it looks to me like you need to pull the steering wheel and drop the steering colum out of the way.

I haven't pulled one yet, but I'm going to be pulling one out of my parts car soon and have looked over it carefully to see what it's going to take. I think there may be a screw or 2 in either side of it going in above the kick panels to, but I haven't really looked up there yet.

i dont think you have to remove the windshield....just lift up the rubber seal and the screws are right there....but it will be difficult using a screw driver up next to the windshield...

Thanks, I don't think I will be removing that dash than. I already know how hard it is to come across a windshield. I'm trying to put all my gauges in the dash, so it taking some work. Again THANKS

    Why

Why is it hard to get a windshield? Caitlins has a crack in it, should she get a new one or just have it filled?

Me and my Dad parted out a 57' Chevy, and we had to remove the windshield to get the dash out. We also had to cut the welds that were holding the dash in. We used a grinder and cut saw, that was "fun".

But you should have seen the money we made off of selling it. :bouncy:

I am in about the same boat as RadMav...I did remove a Maverick dash without removing the windshield back when I was about 17 or 18...it was not easy. It can be done with a lot of patience. The reason I did it back then is because I had already had the windshield replaced and I didn't have enough money to pay to have the windshield reinstalled...
Anyway, here is a pictorial with some comments I put together about how to take the dash out:
