Pretty sure oil is oil ... I personally try to get Castrol 10W30 when on sale ... I buy whatever gas is cheaper .. never had a problem with any gas station I have used (BP, Shell, Quick Trip, Race Trac, Chevron, etc) ...

Todays gas is full of detergents ... additives shouldn't be necessary ... I never add anything to my oil ... Slick 50 and all that stuff was proven to be BS long ago ..

One of the best tech articles I have read. Thanks for sharing with this old guy who uses nothing but 10 W 30 in his race cars turning 7 to 8000 rpm. My secret is out on getting an extra tenth from Mobil One and synthetic gear oil in the diff. Sure changes my outlook on Super Tech filters from Walldemart. Still sticking with Motorcrafts though. Really like the article on water and anti-freeze cooling effects.

    Very good article.
I've ran valvoline 10w-40 with lucas added for years
As for filters.... I have ran a fram one time and one time only... i could tell oil pressure was lower. now i run a Motorcraft on everything.... even my GMC's (make a gmc only 350 filter... kinda funny... Ford filter on GMC truck)
As for the Super Tech filters, I've ran them on stuff before, but prefer a motorcraft
I also run Lucas gas treatment and it does pick up a few mpg
