I'm looking for a 1" sway bar and performance spring for my 77 maverick, and also want to use mustang high performance leaf springs. Which years of Mustangs will interchange with our Maverick parts. Is there a chart out there that show all the interchangable part? Cause if there was i would pay alot for it. We all waste alot of time looking up trees for part from mustangs that will interchange with our Mavericks. Are the Mustangs wider in the wheel base than Mavericks? Are Maverick leaf springs the only ones that will fit our mavericks? Does 65-66 mustang front spings work on all 69-77 mavericks. How come 70-73 Mustang springs don't work? I have to many questions!!! Thanks everybody for reading this and putting together an answer.

Mustang leafs will not work. Many sources for leaf springs for a Maverick.

    Espo Springs-n-Things www.espo.com

    Eaton Detroit Springs (very expensive)

    JC Whitney

Just to name a few. Do a search for more info. Many of us here have used espo springs.

Thanks, I was going to try and buy my struff from "Tony D. Branda Shelby & Mustang Parts", but I guess that won't work. Thanks agian for the help. If anybody else has anything special about Mustang parts that they can let me know about, that would be great. Thanks again

    On the front end:

Sway bar must be Maverick specific. Mustangs are way different in frame shape and location. Add ons like Monte Carlo bars and export braces need to be modified to fit the Mavericks size. You can use 67-73 Mustang upper and lower control arms and ball joints - they bolt right in without mods. Stiffer 71-73 Mustang front springs will fit but need to be cut down to lower the ride height.

I have bought both the Espo and JC Whitney 4 leaf springs. The Espo springs raised the rear about 3 " over stock. The JCW ones kept it at the normal height.

I have seen 70 Stang coil springs swapped to a Mav. Mostly the same thing though.

I looked at some part numbers for leaf springs once and I seem to remember the Mav PNs were the same as some of the Stang PNs... Could be mistaken. Maybe it was shocks and coil springs I am thinking of.

I called the spring shop. They said I have to go through JCW. I called JCW and they said they will have the spring shop contact me. I'm not holding my breath. Might just have to find something locally or at Carlisle next year.
