My '72 Grabber had that light...as well as the recoil seatbelts...and I owned a '72 Grabber years ago WITHOUT the recoil seatbelts that did NOT have that light....
No it dont cause I ripped all that wiring out that went to the seatbelt and the sensor under the passenger side. I think I'll hook it up to something so at least it will come on. I like them personally.
Yeah, the buzz drove me nuts in my brother's old Maverick, so for mine I ripped out the seatbelt wiring so that wasn't going off all the time, and instead of the buzzer I wired in a chime/bell thing from a late model Mustang. It was pretty simple, and much better sounding. Now when the key is in and the door open, it makes a pleasant sound like in most new cars. -Corbin
Yeah Dennis mine is a early 72 and did not have the recoil seat beats so I guess it was an added thing with the recoil belts.
My 72 has that seat belt light. It has the retractable belts with sensors wired to it, as well as sensors wired to the original bench seat. I now have buckets & have adapted the seat belt light as my Check Engine light for my EFI system.
My 72' Comet has the light as well as the recoil belts. I find that buzzing to be extremly annoying. Pulling the belt out and twisting it so it doesnt' retract makes it think the belt is being worn though. I don't wear them since I don't have shoulder belts yet. One of those things I can't seem to find.
bmcdaniel- Hey I wanted to let you know you inspired me. I have the same light pictured in Mavaholics post. Yesterday I installed A nitrous oxide system in my Maverick and set it up so it comes on when I arm the system. Hee-hee! Makes me giddy just thinking about it. Thanks.
