LOL Do you know how hard it is to find an Aussie Cross Flow head for a 200?

It is a great idea though.

There were a few Aussie heads on eBay .. might still be there ... $800 for a used head that would require a rebuild. Included the intake though ...

    I don't like those carbs.
    500 cfm from a 2v?
You are better off with a small 4v.
A 600 vac, for example, will run as a 300 cfm 2v until the secondaries are called upon.
More effiecient use of the cfm IMO.

Fwiw, Holley even makes 2v carbs with 2 stages.
They were made for racing the old Pinto 4 cylinder, the 4 that eventually became the SVO and Turbo Bird engine.
One of the 2 barrels acts as a primary by itself. The other barrel acts as a secondary throttle plate. They were available in 350 and 500 cfm.
They look just like the regular 2v, except the throttle shaft runs through the carb the other direction.
I always thought that would make a very effiecient and snappy 2v on a 4 or 6 cyl.

Thankfully, they weren't used on the SVO's and Turbocoupes.

I only brought those up because I don't know the name of the engine.
It is an OHC 4 cyl that started out in Pintos, but lasted seemingly forever and has a huge following.

I always wondered what an SVO or Turbobird engine would do in a Pinto... :hmmm:

Saw one in California a few years ago running the import drags. They let him in when he told them the engine was a South American version. Had the paperwork to prove it too. Lying bastage. Anyway....damn thing ripped off 9.80's all day long. It was a riot.

I believe he was telling the truth as all the 2.3l blocks were cast in Brazil. I had an 88 T bird turbo coupe I got in to the high 13s. Same motor in a light pinto would have went 12s easy. I sold it after the oil pump locked up and wiped out the turbo which was a T3 hybrid from turbonetics, and the mains/crank. The rods in these motors are basically 302 boss rods. If you get a set of 8 you can get a cheap performance rod for 302s. Just not many around now and with inexpensive after market parts not really a need. I saw first hand they were differnent so I know it's not BS
