Was at a recent car show and saw a 60's Comet with new tri-bar headlights. Has anyone done this or a similiar conversion to sealed beams or etc on a Mav?

Thanks in advance and include pics!

Tri bar headlights are new style headlights to replace the old 7" sealed beam headlights on Mustangs,Comets, Mavericks, etc. I want to put some on my car, but I am a little short of cash right now to spend on the Mav. (Saving for paint) I plan on putting them on some time soon, and I'll let you know how it goes it no one else does. Here's a pic for reference. I know a guy who put these on his 66 Mustang, and he said they are much better than the originals.

    Nice lights.

I have a set of Composites on my Maverick, but no bars across them. Just a glass enclosure with a flat face and an H4 bulb.
100 Watt high beams are really nice out in the county!
Mine only cost about $40.00 for the pair. Got them out of the back of a buddys Hot VW magazine. Can't remember the name of the outfit, but they are in southern California somewhere.

Very nice lights. We don't have Mustangs Plus here in Canada and shipping and duty is often cost prohibitive so I think what Grabber71 is asking is if there's a source of these lights within Canada. I'd also like to know if they're a higher output light than a standard sealed beam.

That does add a very nice look to the mav

Can you install those and report back with pics, and how they work. I've already got my credit card in hand.

Speaking of headlights, does anyone have a line on an HID kit for our cars? I have seen the conversion kits for the square lights, and they say there are ones for the H6024 and H6015 lights, but I have not seen them. Thanks,

    Earl

I too bought the lights courier11sec is talking about but here is the problem(at least with mine) with them and you will see it on my car at the round up, if I don't fix it first. The lights were made for the 74-77 mav, which have the little notches for the bulb sit in different locations than the 70-73 mav so the the glass housing sits in the headlight bucket with the bottom sitting 90deg out on both sides. I do not know if this effects the light pattern or not but it drives me crazy. I just parted out a 77 and kept the headlight buckets just for this but they won't work either. So I guess the next thing to try is notch the 70 buckets. sorry for the long wind, just thought some one else might want to know.

Two 1973 LDO Mavericks (one 4 Drag one 4 driving like Mad on the roads :) ) also have a 75 6cyl Stock! Ok, well sort of Stock :P
buy the Hella H4 convertions. Summit 39.95 and if you want real HIDs ever they will work with those housings... of course if you got a grand to drop on a good set of real HIDs.

I have the Hellas with Super White Koito Bulbs form Japan. I never had a problem with the fit nor the bulbs. from what I have seen and heard the thing with the tri beams is that it won't get good light distabution. I belive the hellas have better light distabution.

Mavlover...2 questions. What are HID's and do you have any pics of the lights you have on your car and why they are better?
