I never cared for side pipes but that looks pretty interesting.

These are $450 a pair and this is the info i found on them.

    Side Skirts
[/font]– Line up the side skirts with the door & rocker panel. Rivet or use screws to hold in place and mold over to smooth finish toward the doorsill. The same can be done with the underside of the skirt. If you plan to run exhaust, be prepared to lowering the skirt, or modify the rocker to accommodate the exhaust. The movie car did not have functional exhaust so this is left to you and a good muffler shop.

Side exhaust may not be legal in every state, when I lived in Texas I got a $75 ticket for a car I baught in Kansas. The judge waived the fine becasue I had the exhaust piped out the rear within a week of getting the ticket. That was about 20 years ago though.

OK, when I get home, I'll measure my 67 Mustang and the 71 Mav and let you know the wheel well to wheel well length of both of them.

Thats right it is from a eleanor kit. they make the side skirts for 65-68 mustangs and i think I have seen some kindy like them on some 95 and up mustang.

http://rebelmustang.com/67-68eleanorkits.htm side exh skirts for $150.00. cheap as i have found and as cheap as you will probly find. this guy has some on ebay too but its still the same price.

Remember back in the 70s when Plymouth had the factory side exhaust? To pass regulations the exhaust when up & over the rear, then came back and exited in front of the rear tire. Just another one of those bizzar 70's thing.

Early Mustangs have a 6" longer wheelbase.

I've always been a huge fan of side exhausts. Done a few systems that way and havent had a prob here in cali. Plus the newer Lightnings have side exit and it dumps before the rear tire. Noise, on the other hand, could be a problem. I really like the way the roush tips look and there's are kinda rectanglar so It might be easier to fab up skirts if you knows your sheet metal. Imo. Heres the link, and no I don't work there:rolleyes: www.roushparts.com.
