    Hey fellow mav enthusiasts,

I wanted to put up a pic of my car for you all to see but don't seem to see where I can do that or what steps I need to do.

Also I am looking for a new muffler for my 73 maverick and I can't seem to get one a the local parts dealer.. very strange that they don't have an aftermarket muffler that will work but that is what they say. I have never had this kind of problem with a muffler of all things.

another prob. I have a headliner that is in perfect condition, however, there are two different areas where the stitching has come out and the headliner has simply sagged and seperated. Has anyone ever re-stitched a headliner without removing it? I am thinking maybe with a sergical curved needle.
It seems like a lot of things need to come apart in order to remove it.

yet one more.. I am trying to find a carb rebuild kit and can't find that at the auto parts stores either.. geez.. I had a 67 buick skylark and I could nearly get everything for that car short of body panels, but for my maverick.. not.

any help or opinion would be great.

    Thanks- Lancelot aka "The Shredder"

I think you need to find a better parts place. Go to a NAPA store or equivalent. They can get it. Mufflers and carb kits should be an easy find. Cant help ya with the headliner. Sorry.

I agree with Dennis, find a better parts store. Sounds like the one you have been going to doesn't want to spend the time to look up the parts on older vehicles.

I doubt you will be able to fix the stitching on the headliner. The thread has rotted you will fix one area and another will go.

also you could talk to some of the other south cal guys about good stores in your area. I know for a fact you can find mav parts there, probably easier than mustang parts. for the headliner, try an upholstry shop near you if you dont want to install yourself. good luck(y)

    thanks

    Hey guys,

thanks for the info. I tried all but NAPA which was on my list but I got discouraged. Like I said for as long as I have been repairing cars new and old, I, for the most part, just ask for what I need and it is only a matter of price.. so I call them all to find who has what for how much...
I tried; Pep Boys, Kragen, Speedzone, etc...
wtih the dead end I turned to the internet auto parts stores.

Can anyone tell me how to put a pic or pics of my car up?

for the member gallery, i think you have to post for a little while first. the thumbnail pics have to be resized for your signature. i use windows xp powertoys for that myself, but any good imaging program should have the ability. still kinda shocked on how hard it is for you to find the carb kit. I live in a small town south of reno and carson and can get that carb rebuild kit. the muffler, you could always get a performance one from summit if your doing it yourself. so are you going to try and make the Knotts show in april?

you can go to napa online and put in your year, make, and model. put in carburetor for the keyword. then they'll ask for the engine size. kits pop right up. only muffler they carry is universal that i can see. most carb kits are $25 - $35.:)

Or, you can try Midas for the Muffler. They have everything from stock, to turbo, to performance mufflers....
