Today marks one of the toughest days for me, I started ripping a 74 grabber apart for parts. :( please dont hurt me.

Only got a little of it, the exterior trim pieces except for the trim on the door , and the rail gutter trim. (how do you get it off without messing it up) I got the qtr windows out and the backglass.

Tomorrow its the interior. I'll have the spare parts for sale later and maybe the body. There is one thing that makes it a little easier, it was hit slightly in the rear and it bent/pushed in the qtr panels some. It also bent down the rear "frame" if you will, right above the axel.

    I'll have pics up soon.

Don't feel bad Will, I'm stripping a 1972 Sprint with the original 302 block in it. Now then, please don't hurt me! lol

If it makes everyone feel better, it has both front and rear end damage. Country

    Interior?

    Country Mav:

I'm pretty sure we've asked you this, but what is the interior like in the Sprint? Are any of the white panels in back seat worth salvaging? Or anything else?

There's not anything wrong with strippin a 74 grabber for parts, especially if it couldnt have been saved. I got the interior for my 70 out of a 74 grabber. The grabber was rolled going 80mph on gravel roads. It was a local who had just received his license...
sometimes we learn from small mistakes, and other times it takes the whole package. He's now cruisin in a 78 Lincoln Mark VIII thats rather swanky.

    Peace,
    Kyle

The best way to get that trim off without damaging it is to go buy a bottle opener, use the rounded end and just start at one end and work to the other. Sounds lame but it works great!

    I know how ya feel!

I pulled my parts car out of field this weekend and I am going to put it in the garage and start to strip down.

The more I look at it's solid frame, torque boxes, cowls, and floor pans I start to cringe at the thought of stripping it down. Even though it does not have an engine, tranny and a few other front end parts. A person hates the thought that a restorable car will be taken off the road forever! Especially when you consider that in some respects it is in better shape than my Grabber!, but I would rather save the rarer Grabber since there is only some much time and money for these projects!

i look at stripiing a car this way... they gave their parts so another can live! all those used parts had to come from somewhere. better this way than to let em' go for scrap!
