My passenger side seat belt buckle is stripped of everything but the metal housing. Can I dis-assembly one of the rear buckles to rebuild it? The belt is fine, just the buckle. I tried using one of the rear belts but they are too short. Has anyone ever done this or should I just purchase another complete belt/buckle? The car is a '72 with bench seats. Luke
You can make one out of the two but better off just go out and get a used one with a good buckle and transfer over all the guts, that way you still have your rear belt intact. All you need is a flat blade screwdriver to take them apart. Hope this helps
