    Hi all!

Just a quick note to let everyone know that we've added a Maverick Technical Info site to the Pegasus Powder Coating pages. Eventually this will be on its own domain. I've received permission from Ford Motor Company to reproduce its' (copyright expired) factory service manuals from 1969-1/2 to 1977 for the Ford Maverick / Mercury Comet. It only took 1 year and 2 months to get a written response!

Anyways, with whatever fanfare I can summon (drumroll please), I present:

    http://www.pegasuspowdercoating.com/maverick_tech.htm

Please stop by and have a look. Although it is thin on current content (brakes and steering right now), I really need everyones input on format and presentation, as well as what portions to put in next. All documents are (laboriously) made available in Adobe Acrobat reader format so you can grease-up the pages!

Thanks, and please let me know what you think!

    Way to go!!!

Tracy, looks like a great resource for those who do not have the original manuals. It also looks like it will be a lot work to get all those pages scanned. I am sure I speak for the rest of us, when I say "Thanks for all time and effort that you are putting into it!".

Tracy, that is going to be one awesome site once you complete it!
How do you plan on hosting all 30 gigs of pdf files?

    Thanks for the kudos everyone!

We are still trying to settle on a good format so you may want to refresh the page during each visit. Any advice on the layout, as well as the sections your would like to see next would be appreciated.

    I've recently added sections on:

    Vacuum Brake Booster
    Steering Columns - Conventional
Steering Linkage (since someone recently needed this information).

I started this project quite awhile back since I was frustrated with not being able to find the information when I needed it. The Chilton manuals are woefully lacking so I was very surprised when I found an origional, 6-volume set of factory service manuals on Ebay. Well, after some very heated bidding, I got them!

The worst part of this whole project is that I had to go down to the local print shop so they could shear the bindings off of these pristine shop manuals! I had to do this so the sheets would lie flat on my ancient (circa 1993) scanner.

Each page is read in, recognised with OmniPage Pro Office version 12 (~ $475.00), formatted and output to .PDF format for portability. I thought this would work nice so that anyone can simply print the section they need and carry it out to the shop.

As for the hosting, yesterday I went and purchased a 100gb Western Digital hard drive and added it to the server strictly for hosting PPC and the MavTech site.

I am enthusiastic about how many hits it has received so far, so maybe, once I get enough content on it, and have it under its own domain name, I can put it on the Maverick/Comet web ring.

Thanks again for everyones support on this project.
    Tracy
