I've read some minor complaints that not enough Mavericks/Comets were at some of the shows and meets. You've heard of the saying " Theyre like bellibuttons; everybodys got one!" (Chevys) and Mustangs are getting plentiful too. Well They ain't gonna say that about our Mavericks and Comets:D

    its true

its true. but recently i have noticed a considerable increase in the number of maverick around my town. ive seen at least 7 or so that are ok looking and one realy nice one. i still get the "oh, its just a maverick" attitude though. it ticks me off too. oh well at least i dont have a stupid honda that looks like every other modern car out there too. d*mn punks and their loud 4 bangers........sorry for the rant, im better now (holds self and rocks back and forth in corner)-james

oh my lord! you just live in the wrong neighborhood. at least once a week, often two or three times a week, even in winter, i get "i love your car." many of you have seen my mavs. not hateful but far from beautiful. i still get guys wanting to buy them. 2 weeks ago when me n todd went upstate (ny) to pick up our 302, we took the truck. a 200 mile ride. each way. anyhow half way there todd said "you know what i hate most about this truck?" i knew right away. "yeah... just another truck. nobody honkin and wavin and admiring our car!" maybe life in new jersey has a few good points.

Yea, everybody always honks, and thumbs up, and "hey, hes not old enough to drive"s us when we drive by. On the other side of the story, when my friends at school hear about my car and ask their dad or mom about it they come in and say "Well if you like it, Hey at least its a car" to me.

Whenever I go to the shows I take it for granted that I will see mustangs, crapmaros, vettes, chevelles, etc. But you have to admit, they do look good. Better than any new aerodynamic car made today.

I wish I woulda been able to catch the girls at carlisle with their bellybuttons in the swimsuit contest! Thanks for waking me up guys!:D:D

The "its just a mavrick" attitude is what makes people feel really really stupid when you blow the doors off thier car without even trying. I get the "wtf" look all the time, its great!

all i ever get is random older men approaching me saying "wow, thats nice, i havent seen one of them in years"

and doesnt everyone love it when the rice pull up next to you?Instead of "oh this mav will tear me up!" and not wanting to race... they decide to race. mistakes. then again it goes to prove, people who drive muscle cars are also smarter, not just faster. :)

Heck, speaking of the "WTF" factor, I'm probably going to put a nitrous bottle in the trunk (or maybe even compressed air with a lot of nitrogen) just to vent it out of the cowl vents and scare the heck out of the ricers (as if the 6-71 blower sticking from the hood wouldn't do that already!).

I've been talking with the folks at Coast High Performance who built the 302 in Pegasus now and brought up the subject of stroking up a spare 302 block I have to 347ci, with the same 6-71 blower and a very small (75 shot) of nitrous. Well...

We spent about 1-1/2 hours on the phone and agree that it can certainly be done with a 7.75:1-8.25:1 compression, no more than 18lbs of supercharger boost, and no more than a 125 shot of nitrous (N.O.S for the younger crowd). The guys at CHP are great and even spent the time to get BDS on the phone (Blower Drive Service) to work the details. Everyone on the conference call agreed that the 347 should be able to achieve upwards of 615hp with all of the necessary parts (stud girdle, etc). Oh, and the best part, should be able to run pump gas so long as I stay off of the "laughing gas" button.

Again, this is WAY down the road when my situation gets better, but looks like something worth trying with our "old", "bit it aint a Mustang" cars!
