I winked at you because I figured that YOU had gotten it and/or was 'joking' that you'd already gotten it anway.

As far as the trim or no-trim, I can't answer. If they actually came without the trim, then the lines would not follow that of the head-light trim (the chrome line goes from the light trim to the hood and 'ties' the two headlights together).

I have a golf tournament next Saturday. Have at it guys (and thanks in advance for getting those high-backs for me   )

I agree on the chrome lines, but I also don't think that there is room for chrome AND the letters. I would have to look more closely to see if there are any points where the chrome was attached.

Rick, If you want the hood, I can pick it up for you when we go up there (assuming it is still there, these are 2 month old pictures).

Good luck on the golf game

I dunno, it looks like the chrome piece 'might' be thin enough to go underneath the FORD letters. Someone will jump on and tell us (hopefully) if the chrome is actually supposed to be on there or not.

I appreciate your offer (to get it for me). If there's not too much rust (especially behind the front lip of the hood), and the price is right, sure!

I'm not sure what a 'fair' price for it is without looking at it firsthand though. If you can get it for what you'd consider 'dirt cheap' then I trust your judgement and will arrange pickup/re-pay as soon as practical.

Thanks on the golf game wishes. Thankfully, it's a scrammble, so I'll catch a ride on someone's back the entire game!

    Rick,

I doubt I could get it "dirt cheap". This guy has the parts, but he charges for them...I guess he thinks if we are willing to drive that far out for them, he can charge whatever he wants.

I was supposed to pick up a grill for Ed Winegar (926 mav) but when I got there, the guy wanted something like $50 or $75 for it. Ed said "nope".

He was willing to sell a decent low-rust body for $300, that I was scoping out for a buddy who has three rust-buckets in his back yard.

I still would like to go out, maybe this Saturday, and just take a leisurely stroll with camera in hand, just to "take inventory" for future reference. I will keep an eye on the weather and see what happens.

Duster, PM me with where exactly you are, and I might be able swing by and pick you up, if your folks would be cool with you being picked up by some strange guy you met on the internet... :evilsmile

Gotta be careful these days... :D

    question

how many people exactly are in the Houston area? I have seen one gray primered maverick always parked in an HEB next to highway 59 going southward past sugarland. Think its a 70. havent seen it for a while. Dont know if he/she is a member here.... just wondering if they are

    Not sure.

I personally know of a brown 4-door down near Hitchcock, a red 70, white 74, and tan 76 4-door in my neighborhood, a nice comet down in lake Jackson (daily driver that was a semi-drag car at one time). I have seen a mav at the River Oaks area in Houston parked in the same area in front of one of the stores, I assume he/she worked right there. Then there is me, Rick, Ed D. and his daughter, Ed W., Shadowmaster, duster, (sorry if i forgot anyone) and I know there are more (saw one broken down on the highway near my house about 2 weeks ago, and then another one parked in a construction area near here for a couple weeks about a year ago).

I think there are a lot hiding in the woodwork.

Man, Scott. You see way more on your side of town. I've seen three over the past five years that I know of on the NW side of Houston.

BTW, I didn't score even ONE bogey in the Golf Tournament - it was rained out. :D

Yeah, but we needed that rain!!!

I am heading out Sat morning. Currently, fan2488 may/may not go as he may have a family function to attend, so it looks like it might just be me and Duster.

Also, forgot to mention the 72 Grabber that I got my small bumpers, spoiler, and valences off of, in another guy's back yard between here and Bay City.

On what road will you catch I-10? I might meet y'all there. About what time?

    Still pondering it.

We figured the trim would have to be there to line up with the headlight trim, but the picture of the one I saw at the yard didn't appear like it had the trim mounting holes (or however they mount).

Anyway, I will have to cancel out this weekend's trip...

The wife's rear calipers froze up and it is on blocks in the garage while she takes MY truck to her mom's for a mother's day weekend...

Hmmm, her car is broke...and I have to cancel my plans and suffer for it...I don't think that is fair

Can't drive the Mav? :) I've put almost 1,000 miles on my Mav in the last week and a half.
