I posed this question last year regarding using the 289 Hi-po cast exhaust manifolds on a maverick. The responses were basically to go with headers. Has anyone actually used these manifolds on a Maverick and with what results or problems?
I would say go with the headers the Hi-po manifolds didnt flow a whole lot better than the standard 289s.Think about all the stangs with 289 Hi-po's unless they want it to be a original set up most go with headers.
Why won't they fit? From what I can tell the passenger side would be easy and the driver side looks like it should clear OK. The only thing I am not sure of is the thickness in relation to the shock towers.
Ever hear of anyone using them on a Mav or Comet? NO. The outlet angles are wrong. The cars are not Mustangs! However if it is not believed, try it to find out.
The hipo exhaust manifolds flow only marginally better than stock and they're heavier. That's why Shelby put tube headers on his Mustangs.
They don't fit . I tried once . They dont fit in a Fairlane nor a cyclone either They do fit in trucks ..... crack in them too . LOL
