    Yikes! Some good numbers!

That's about what I'm planning on getting (mid 6's) when I
finally get my car running down the 1/8th.

    Must be fun. :(

Can you refresh my old memory of what engine/tranny/rear gears
you're running agian? (or point me to a post).

What are you 60's? What size tires?

Can the video easily be uploaded (or url'd to)?

Will Lassie ever find her way home? (so many questions!)

    Thanks!

    Rick

Ya, I had a great time even with the rains slowing things down. John's car is real impressive considering the rim and tire size especially. Met some nice people. Got to film his left front wheel lifting off the ground, couldn't tell about the right from the angle I was filming but the way his car hooks and leaves and as level as it looked I would have guess that both tires had a little air under them. Wish I could be there alot more. I think John might have sold his soul for time because he ran a 6.66 one round:D :D ;). I know he went a 1.48 60foot when I was there but he has went better than that so once he gets everything lined out he'll be going quicker:) Thank you John for letting me hang around.

    Thanks!

Ward the round after you left I prayed to get rid of that 6.66 and I went a 6.65 with a "8". So I guess I got my soul back :D As far as the set-up goes: its a 347, eagle crank and connecting rods, SRP pistons (13.5/1) Lunati Solid roller cam and Rockers. AFR 205 heads, Super Victor Intake with a Quick Fuel custom carb(870 cfm) C4 tranny with 4.86 gears and 9 inch. Tire size is 28x9 M/T e.t. slicks. My best 60' so far is a 1.43, but if you have followed my story you know that, thats the run that the tranny let go on. I am a "old school racer".... foot brake only. I am happy with those #'s considering that I need a lower gear, thinking 5.13 or lower. Right now I am going throught the traps about 600 rpm away from my shift point. I did manage a 10.40 something @ 128 at Muncie during the round-up with this current set-up. Also I have 1 5/8 headers and I need 1 7/8. But all that takes money, so thats probably a winter project. I will race it as is for the rest of this season and save my money for those mentioned parts. Once all that is done I am hoping for 6.40's, all motor and little tires! As far as a video goes, I am going to put together a compilation of mav/comet video and going to offer it to all in a couple months, there will be "plenty" of race cars, including mine in it :D

    Thats pretty impressive .

I am wondering how much your car weighs . It looks to be around 2700 or less . I was also wondering if you have ever run a smaller carb and what happened .

Now that I am asking questions , what exactly do you have to do to arrive at 347 cubic inches (bore/stoke) anyways .

I guess I am really old school and dont keep up on this stuff anymore .

John, I see air under BOTH! WTG!

I have the 185 AFR heads, am currently running 411 gears, and my compression is way lower (11.1:1).

There's no way I can touch those numbers - on motor.

My engine was built for street/strip so I have to cheat and use up to a 200 h.p. shot of dope. I'd prefer to have it all motor (for consistancy's sake), however, the cam was matched pretty good for this combo. I'm satisfied with the torque/rpm curve with my set-up (rev limit at 6,000). The idea was to have a "maintenance-free" race car! bwahh hahahahah!

I suppose I'll start looking into the 513 myself. I knew it was gonna come sooner or later, I may as well do it now before I embarass myself going the 1/8th.

Continued success. Impressive numbers! Impressive photo!

    (BTW "6.66" =, 6.658 = :D = Divine intervention)

    Thanks guys....

Its been a long struggle with this car, but hopefully I will be able to enjoy it for awhile. The car weighs 2635 pds. without my "big azz" in it! :D

    smaller carb.

I called Quick Fuel Solution and had them custom make me a carb with all my engine specs. I did not even have to change a jet. They produce a excellent product.
