Would it be possible to make a 71-72 model with the Grabber hood? (Like in the picture of the green Maverick)

CNUSA, you are right, the Stallion didn't appear until '76.

How about white with Grabber orange stripes?

    Missing my old '70 Maverick
    questions of worth:

    a) The parking lamps were not originally in the '70 grills. That didn't appear until ...... when? They also had clear side markers - later years went to amber (someone please confirm).

    b) The '70 grabbers didn't have the 'grabber' hoods. When did they start putting the grabber hoods on, '71 up?)

    c) The scoop on the Sprint shown, albeit a nicety, wasn't offered on that car (as far as I know). That, I believe, is more like a Comet hood scoop (which I personally like better). The Sprint came with a stock shaped hood, didn't it guys? It 'did' have some badges and such that identified it as a sprint (sticker-type badges on rear fenders).

Any other changes from the '70 model worth noting to Robert?

Your attention to detail is appreciated, Robert.

    Continued success,

    Rick

As far as side markers, my 70' has red side markers in the rear sides (left/right) and amber on the front sides (left/right). The turnsignals in front are clear/white which changed to amber in 71'. I believe this was because of a Federal mandated law that they had to be amber starting in 71'.

Rick, you are right about the Grabber hoods coming out in 71'-72' and this being discontinued with the 73' model year. You are also right about the Sprint's stock shaped hood as well.

That is about all I can think of. Anyone else?

The Sprint did not have a scoop or spoiler in stock trim. There is a USA crest on the rear quarter panel which is visible in the picture. Side marker lites have always been amber in front and red in rear. The lites under the bumper were clear in 70 and amber in 71 & 72. They were omitted in 73 & up.

I am taking it all in. Thanks for all the great input. The running lamp colors, and paint codes were especially helpful. Probably for this first production run we'll be sticking to the stock hood as the casting has already been molded. Did any Mavericks 70-72 come with striping other than the Sprint and Grabber models?

Not from the factory. There were probably dealer promotions that added stuff.

CNUSA Pretty much any color with the word Grabber in it is gonna be a hot seller, the grabber hood is the selling point of the car (the hoods with air scoops) you will sell more models if you have a grabber version. I'm partial to white with black for some reason. :)

Robert, I see on the CNUSA site that it's possible to preorder these cars but I was wondering if a person preorders now and there is an assortment of colors when the production model is released, can one specify the color they'd like? Also do you have a projected release date at this time?

A pre-order, however placed, provides you with a guaranteed reservation for the product when it arrives in stock. If you pre-order now you will be kept informed of the program as it evolves. We intend on offering the Mavericks in all variations as one complete set and by the individual variations. In the near future we will be posting the entire purchase program. Here's how the program will probably go...pre-orders for the entire set and the indivdual variations will be offered as soon as the manufacturer approves the order. 30 days out from the arrival of the order in the U.S., a www.Tiger-Wheels.com web site preview edition 1 of 150 limited will be offered, which will be followed by a web site exclusive 1 of 750 model. These models will be flown in ahead of the sea shipment.

In addition to the web site exclusives, probably 2 or three exclusive promotional limited edition models of no more 2000 pieces per variation will be offered concurrently. Pre-orders for these promotional exclusives generally begins after the customer has an approved a test shot. The two or three remaining variations in the entire run will themselves be limited to no more than 2000 pieces each and will be offered by ourselves and a variety of dealers around the country who we supply. All in all it could take up to 90 days. We are proposing some very cool models - Grabbers, stocks and customs.
