pour a gallon of water in the cowls and see if it leaks inside. if it does you have a major problem. as for the door make sure any drain holes are open.:)

Cowls on these cars are notorious for rusting out. As Don stated, there are drains along the bottom of the doors just above the pinch weld. If you already have rust bubbling in the sheet metal, its a little too late to clean them now. Time to learn body work!!

:hmmm: Not sure what your talking about there. I dont see how water could come around the brake pedal.

You are probably correct there. Some cars came from the factory with a soft pedal option. It utilized a liquid filled pedal pad for more comfort while driving without shoes on. Hehehehehehehe

Just joking with you. Sounds good though.

The reason it drips off the brake pedal is that the cowel or windshield support has a hole rusted in it, or the windshield seal is bad. It runs down to the low spot, drips on the pedal mount, runs down the back side of the brake pedal and drips off the pad. You have a rust or seal problem somewhere. The hard part is going to be finding it. Poor water in the cowel first and if it does not leak in the car poor water over the bottom seal on the windshield and check. Keep doing this going higher on the car untill you find the leak. It is there you just have to find it.

    LOL that's funny.

I agree with what everyone else has said. Also, the floor on my '74 Grabber was damp for a few months. I got on here and started asking what the heck it could be. After verifying I didn't have any leaks anywhere, someone came up with the genius thought that my master cylinder may be going bad. Guess what? The dampness was brake fluid.
