Same Here. I enjoy this board to find out more about my car. The help I have recieved on this board has been great. I did not join this board to become a member of any club. I joined to help pay the expenses of the board and to help others with their car. Hope you guys can come to a happy solution to your problems.

To many times in the past I've heard that this is not the place to say what you have to say It's not good for the "club" I believe that what John is proposing is a good thing I honestly believe that A member of a club should have voting rights on ALL things that have to do with the club wether it be officers, how the clubs money is spent ect......I am not a member of any club I steped down as the Mo. state Rep. Of the MCCI last year and did not rejoin(probably for what some would call PETTY reasons) John we have been freinds for a few years now and I Look forward to the gathering. you have my support.

I agree with Dennis....this thread as not gotten out of hand. if it would have I am positive Mr. T-bo would have stopped it as I am sure he is being very aware of this post (y) as he should be.

This was/is not about me against the MCCI......people want to know reasons why this is happening? As mentioned drop my a pm, e-mail or ask for a telephone number...I will be glad to oblige.

I will say it again, greatest members any car club could ever have!

Should this post be locked? No...should it be moved? If Mr. T-bo wants to move it he will. I have no problem with that.

Thanks to everyone that has posted comments and concerns.
Thanks to Dennis, Dan and Shawn for the e-mails and PM's. Thanks for understanding!

I feel I must apologize for my earlier post this is not the correct place to air my problems. The point I wanted to make and it didn't come out right is that voting happens. I like the direction that the MCCI is going (proposals for round ups locations) and look forward to seeing what MCG has to offer.

Maybe nobody has thought of this but, having both events on the same week end might be better for the long travelers. All the east coast states are so little (and cute) that we may get to attend both depending on what is on the itenerary at each.

But they could still do that even if they were at different times as long as they plan ahead, which they have to do anyway. It's still a matter of forcing someone to choose one over the other which will obviously make either of them smaller and less successful than if everyone went to one big event. I think it would be much more fun to attend an event with 40-50 cars rather than one with only 20. It's all about choice. If someone said you can only be a member of one club or the other then there are going to be a lot of hard feelings towards somebody making the decisions from those of us that would like to be members of both. I'm one of those. I personally wouldn't want to miss out on either event if it were feasibly possible for me to attend both. JMO

I just want to say that I hope there is a roundup/gathering close to where I am (wherever that ends up being ;) ). I don't have the money or free time to go to both; I guess I'll have to pick and choose. If both happen on the same weekend I'm going to the one closer to me because I can't make a large roadtrip with my baby just yet. I'm also going to again hold off on any membership thingy now until I figure out what's going on.

Ya'll, this really isn't the best thing to have in the General Section. It's like having it in the newbie section, everyone comes here first and this isn't the best show we can give to people... Just my $.02.

    My thoughts exactly.

This thread needs to stay right where it's at. There is no reason to move it. As has already been seen on this thread, just because someone is new here dosen't mean they don't have any grasp on other situations similar to this. I personally would be offended if something like this was hidden from me simply because I was new. This thread has for the most part remained a respectful discussion, and should be available to all members, new and old IMO. Let everyone decide for themselves. All these little jokes about popcorn and stuff are what needs to be moved out of this thread.

Although I have only been a forum and MCCI member a short time, I have been in the hobby for close to 30 years. I also am a member of the Fairlane Club of America, which has managed to survive and grow over the last 20 years.

This reminds me of the split within the P.F.C.A. (Performance Ford Club of America), if anyone remembers that. It was a large club and held one of the best shows in the country on Labor Day weekend in Columbus, Ohio. A group split off and held their own show (I believe it was the United Ford Owners or something like that). Both organizations struggled and I believe they both died. At least the P.F.C.A. did.:(

I don't fully understand the politics of this. I actually read the entire thread to try and understand it. Whatever the outcome, I hope the number of Maverick & Comet enthusiasts continues to grow.

p.s. How about the world outside of the southeast? Maybe we could have a Midwest Maverick/Comet Club?
