Man, ya'll stop getting "disturbed" with his engine choice....lol
The more fast Mavericks, the better. Yeah, he could do it w/ a BBF or a SBF.
But hey, its nice and fast.

    Great car man.

yes it is brian's car. i bought it off of racingjunk.com. he wanted 6000 rolling, and sold it to me for 4500. he kept the headers and motor plates, and shifter. but i got the rest. the car is a little rough in the welding area, but nothing that can't be fixed, and the price was right. every other car i looked at with a funny car cage and able to be converted to 25.1 specs started at 10000 to 15000 dollars rolling. i have had the other green maverick for a LONG time, and wasn't looking for one,but i am glad it showed up. it was a really good deal.

what does anyone here know about it? what did the bid get to on ebay? anyone have the auction number?

Use the BBC but save money up for a SBF of a BBF when that BBC blows :p

i just don't understand the whole"ford vs. chevy" thing. the engine is an air pump, and has no idea what make it is. neither does the car for that matter.

it doesn't matter what you build, when you get into 1000 hp engines 15000 dollars is the norm,no matter what make it is,so money doesn't matter at that point. the only point here is that i have the chevy motor,it is fresh with only 10 runs on it,it make gobbs of power, spins at 7500 rpm all day long without a hiccup, and fits very nicely into my chassis.
if it blows up,a ford will not be built, because fixing mine will be cheaper. so that theory is gone.
you guys need to get over the ford vs chevy battle. it doesn't matter.
it is a maverick, and will represent mavericks very well.
you guys could learn something from OKIBONO. his posts were the most inteligent of them all. it is nice and fast, that is all that matters.

It does matter.... if it didn't matter there would only be one car company out there, and everything would have the same type of motor.

I wasn't knocking you for putting the BBC in the Maverick, just saying it would be more at home w/ the BBF or SBF as that is what's supposed to be in there.

I'm a true car lover, I like all kinds of cars, but tend to lean towards Ford. And if you think we are bent out of shape... try talking to Chevrolet guys about putting a BBF in a 69 Camara, a Corvette, or something of that nature and they get ALL pissy and bent out of shape. Just my 2 cents

Fords should have Ford engines and Chevys should have Chevy engines, period.

I'd love to see you go on a Chevy site and tell them you are putting a 460 in a '63 Corvette, then tell them to get over it, the engine is just a big air pump. LOL they would eat you alive...

I wish you luck and hope you do well with the car, but don't come on Ford site and expect a bunch of die hard Ford guys to think putting a BBC in your Maverick is a good idea. You gotta be able to take the heat if you're going to mix and match brands like that.

i came to a maverick site, not a ford site. my street maverick is all ford, but racecars are different, and it should only matter that i carry the maverick flag. just my 2 cents, well another 2. i guess i am upto about a nickel now!as for the car,it is a ladder bar chassis, and the mustang 2 suspension is new, installed by the last owner. as for headers,i will be using a set of dynatech chassis headers. they fit just fine, since the chassis is totally fabricated, and has nothing to do with the original for set-up. the only thing left ford is the body, the part you see,the part that matters most. if you can't tell i am digging at you guys.and it is said jokingly,no panty bunching please.:evilsmile

Last time I checked, my title, registration and insurance says FORD Maverick. That's like going to a Mustang site and saying it's not a Ford site, when every car there is a Ford. Come on now.
