So if you install the module, can you run full battery voltage to the coil and pertronix? If so that should make a hotter spark? Supposedly just running the pertronix makes for a hotter spark? I am just having a hard time understanding how the pertronix would make the motor run better over points? It seems to do everything i want to do now? I am on a budget and having to check and adjust points just doesnt seem like that big of a hassle? And i just cant see what differences this module could make? So basically i am just wondering about the voltage, can you run full bat voltage to the coil and pertronix? If so, how far down the coil wire must you go to get past the resistor wire??

    later!! chris

Points ware out, they need to be adjusted once in a while, just one less thing to play with, it's progress.....

You run full battery voltage. Besides not wearing out, the Pertronix is more accurate at firing the coil at the right time and there is no points bounce at higher rpm. But points have worked ok for a long time on stock engines. For any type of performance engine I would want electronic switching. I have a Pertronix that switches a HyFire VI box and Blaster coil.

You "should" supply 12 volts to the Pertronix, it's a most. Cut the wire as close to it's terminal, I mean as far away from the distribuitor, to get full battery voltage. Being the wire a resistor, the less wire remaining, less resistance to full voltage.;)
