Anyone knows the rear end dimmension of a 66 Falcon? Is it compatible w/Mavericks? 'bout to purchase a 66 Falcon parts car with a 302, 4 speed tranny & a 9" rear.

    I believe it's 52" flange to flange.

    Yea baby - a 9"

According to my chart it is 58" vs a Maverick at 56 1/2". That is total width at the brake drum surface. So it will fit, about 3/4" wider on each side. You can compensate for that with the right backspace on your rims. Not sure about the spring perch set up, but they are easy enough to remove and reweld in the right location if you have to.

    Good find!

yeah 52" is the inner measurement so 58" should be correct for outside flange to flange. Thats the chart I have, should have mentioned that.

Thanks to your inputs, I just bought another car.(Mrs. not happy tho) $425 for the whole car, with some type of chromed 5 lugs wheels. Think the Mav is going to be a 4 in the floor car.:drive: Now I just need the rest of Mav only parts for the swap; under engine brace, V8 mounts, pedals??? I've already scored a set of front discs parts from a 76 Granada, V8 Mav throtle cable from ebay, free Granada 8" rear end(just in case). Any help locating the remaining parts will be appreciated.:woohoo1:

I would like to see pictures and get the numbers off the tag on the 9". Falcons came with 9" on the big blocks and HiPo motored cars. That is a great find and worth the entire $425 - specially if it has a traction-lok in it.

I bet it's a retrofit anyway. Car has a home made tunnel opening for the shifter. I'll post some pics in the comming weeks, need to keep working on a friend's 78 Corvette for now. Need ca$h for the Mav.:thumbs2:
