I recently purchased a 72 Maverick which appears to be a Grabber. The door panel has the following: BODY COLOR TRIM TRANS AXLE DSO 62D 9A NA W 6 23 It has a 302, column shift, bench seat, and Grabber hood. It also has the rear spoiler. Another thing I have questions about is the fact that it has turn signals in the grille and front valance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Body 62D also indicates a Grabber. The lights under the bumper are your actual turn signals, the lights in the grill are "Sport Lamps" just for looks...there should be a toggle switch under the dash just to the right of the radio to turn them on/off. Starting in 73 these were used as the turn signals because the bigger bumpers covered the lights underneath. Try this for the rest of the codes.... http://home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/index.html
62D is a Grabber. Post the first 5 numbers of your VIN and we can tell for sure that it is a Grabber, where it was built, and what engine it had. Most I can tell you is that Your car was white with a C4 automatic trans, 3.00 rear and was bought new in or around Charlotte, NC.
That's cool, and answers a question I had about the VIN's on my Mavericks (why the VIN on my '73 2 door Maverick is 3X91L316890, and the rest of my Mavericks have a 1 in the position of that 3 (0X91T167193, 2K91T146486, 4W93L159085, 3K92L100945) .
