I just signed up and thought I would say hello.

My name is Haley, I just bought a 71 Grabber for my brother, it is a project car, but should not be too bad to fix up. It was a Cali car and now resides in the burbs of Chicago.

The car is as solid as one could hope for, no rot anywhere one would expect to find it. Underside and all body panels is AMAZINGLY solid! Doors dont sag and close good.

It has a 302, runs rough, but it is due to needing carb work on the Holley in it...no problem with that.

It has dual flowmasters, but needs new exhaut pipes...whoever did the current set-up was pretty much a dink...has gaps and just pathetic workmanship.

Interior pretty much looks like it needs all new...so a little here and there.
Seat covers and stuff like that to start with, and replace as my brother picks a color.

Paint was originally blue, but now is black with about 10,000 (rough estimate) paint chips showing the blue.

Some exterior trim needs replacing...like the grill has a small chunk missing out of it, and missing one rear red side marker.

Engine compartment is so stinkin dirty, I dont know how or why anyone would let one get to the point it is at...no pride I guess.

Electrical is not the greatest...car starts...head and tail lights and radio works, but that is about it.

Once my roomie and me get into the car more, we will be able to see what it needs and start the mechanical and body fix up process...she is a guru with cars and does it all. She is unreal with what she can do with cars.
I am the detailer...can make junk look good.(y)

My brother will tackle the electical issues...he used to keep F18's up and flying while in the Marines.

I bought him the car because he had a few as a teen and has always loved them and has missed them for over 20 years, so I thought it was time to get him one and he can join me at some car shows in the area.

It will be interesting to see if he can ever get the Grabber to beat the little red monster in my garage.:p

Anyways, I just saying hi, and will pobably post real soon to get ideas on fixing her up and ask ??'s to you guys (and gals if any here).

    Seeya!

    Haley
