I bought the Highwayman's 1976 Maverick. What a great car! I drove it all the way from Ohio to the Boston area without a hitch, missing the two ice storms that hit from Ohio to MA. This car is everything Jim said it was and more. He and his wife Cathy were so helpful. Jim checked the whole car over to be sure it was in fit condition to make the 730 miles to my home. Cathy took me to the registry to get the car title transferred and temporary plates. She even gave me homemade cookies for the road. Thank you Jim and Cathy. Lastchance
They were great! Held the car for a month till the break in the weather when I could drive it back. They worked with me and made this a great experience.Buying a car long distance was very scary, but this transaction was a pleasure.
Thanks for the kind words! It was a tough decision to sell a car that my daughter and I liked so much, but she needed a car that would be more appropriate for daily/all-season driving. I think it is better that someone (lastchance) will have a car that they can appreciate and enjoy than to have it deteriorate as a daily driver in a college town. Especially with our "mild" Ohio winters. This board and its members have been a real help to us. Many of our questions were answered with just a quick search of past posts. It was especially rewarding to personally meet many of you at the two Roundups we attended. The Maverick/Comet community is really enthusiastic about these cars. Thanks for letting me be a part of the fun. P.S. If you think home made cookies are great, you should try Cathy's home made peanut butter pie.
