got a big ass ford lincon and im pulling the motor to shove in my new comet ...if it will work,........think i could fit a 351c in it...or would it even be worth it?? if so would anyone happen to have some newer heads
I have seen clevelands with headers in an unaltered maverick. How they got it in there I have no idea.
If the engine is coming from a Lincolin, it probably isn't a 351c. I don't recall any Lincolin ever using that engine. Are you sure the engine isn't a 351m or 351w? If it's an M, then it isn't going to just drop in. If it's a W, it will go in using all the regular 302 parts. Tight fit though. A 351c will go in as well. Again a tight fit. Use all the 302 mounting parts and tranny to get either C or W in. Good luck and welcome! Dave
im pretty damn sure its a 351c....they could have dropped a new motor in it or something? lol.....idk ill find out
What year and model of Lincolin? Find out exactly what you have. Other than the 351m, someone on the board has done it and can give you the skinny on the swap. 351m/400 hasn't been done because it takes a GREAT deal of mods to do, and once those mods have been done, a 460 can go in. So why put one of the 'bastard' 351s in when you can have a 460? It would be an enormous waste of money and effort IMO.
Are you sure it's a 351? I had a 89 Lincoln MK VII that had a 302 and an AOD tranny - the "standard" motor / trans that shipped with those cars. Depending on the style of Lincoln you have she may very well be a 351. BTW the MK VII was the fastest car I ever owned. If that's what you have you could drop both in the car with a little tranny tunnel "adjustment". Matt
No Lincoln ever came with a Clevland,460,462,400,351m,302,possibly a 351w.I'm a big block guy and have checked under many Lincoln hoods over the years.
