71gold couldn't have said it better. Just trying to save you from scratching the head afterwards wishing you would have taken the extra time to paint it. Is this your only mode of transportation at the time.

Also, not trying to be a dick, but also take the time to fix whatever leaks you have with the motor. Olny saves time and money in the long run. This car building stuff is not about rushing. I have been building my Mav. for two years now. People talk a lot of **** about it not being done or on the road, but believe me when I say it will be ready when I do get it out.

Save work save work. Have some patience and do it right the first time my friend.

Some nutcase owned the car before me and started the job of shaving them, got about 40% done, and quit and covered them up with sheet metal before he sold it. So I never noticed, until my steering went way outta whack going around a sharp curve! (Boy, was I pissed to find that out!) But, it's done and should be strong.

And Slk70: no, this is not my only mode of transportation. I have jeep cherokee that I run around in. But I wanted to make my Mav an everyday driver for the summer.

Perfectly understandable then...good luck with the car!

Boy do I know the feeling! My problem is only working on it every once in a while, but if I didn't have another one on the road, it would be done and half-a**ed.

No 302. Stock 200. Just finished putting motor back in and hooked everything up. Started right up with no problem! Much quieter and smoother with new vacuum lines, exhaust gasket, and of course, the exhaust donut. Also, after y'all begged me to, I painted the engine bay gloss black and looks practically brand new!! Took 'er for a ride, ran stronger and handled well, except for the left-hand pull that's not hard at all. Easy fix!! Done! Yeehaw!! Thanks everyone for your help. Couldn't have done it without you guys!

    Take a look!! Please comment!

That's purty! Now when you get the money for a V8, you're ahead of the game with the shaved towers. I put my headers on mine today, and wished I had went ahead and shaved the towers. That is on the to do list for later on.....
