I've just recently joined the board, but have had a rusty 76 Mav for several years...Long story!!!

As my oldest daughter turned 15 and has started drivers ed, we decided to restor the Mav...To make a short story long, I joined the sight to get pointers, ideas, etc.

As I get things sorted out I will be keeping a photo journal of the project!

I was not going to start the thread until I got a little further along, but today's event just got me all fired up.

I ordered a set of headers from 71 Maverick, and they just showed up! Nathan, if your out there? Dead on, couldn't be happier with them:bananaman

If the rest of the folks on the board are as responsive as Nathan, I'll never buy another part off of ebay! Thanks again.

This restromod will include: Complete suspension overhaul, tranny rebuild, 250 rebuild, interior overhaul, and bumper to bumper body and paint. I have a c`oulple of option upgrades that I am considering. So if you like to see slow trial and error progress stay tuned.

Hope I'm in the right forum,

    Lou

I totally agree, and would ge happy to try them if you front the bill:D

I've priced them, and that changed my mind.

One of the mods--After it is up in running in stock fashion--is to drastically modify the integrated head/intake manifold to adapt mpfi.

Note, I didn't say throtle body. I already have the prototype hacked out of a spare head. And am confident that I can get it to work. The doner system will come out of a 3.6 mpfi 1984 buick. To date I have collected everything I need except the computor, fuel pump and regulator.

My most current point of contention with this mod is chosing between the 200 or 250 block? As I have 2 76 Mav's on tap for restromod, I was thinking of doing one of each and comparing the results.

My thought was to leave the 250 slightly modified with stock or 2brl, and play with the 200. For example fit up a 75 or later 250 head for better breathing, plus I think the 3.3ltr 200 would be a closer match to the doner mpfi than the 4.1ltr 250. Not that the computor would be an issue because it is a Mass air flow, but breathing would be more appropriate for the smaller cubes. Just some thought's, And this part is at least a year away. I want to get rubber on the road before I start chasing the hard stuff(y)
