I'm attempting to mount my new gas tank in my 73 maverick that i got from autokrafters. I just took it out of the box and right off found out that the vent holes are different. Does anyone know if they changed the vent at any time during the years mavericks were built and if so what or where can i find what i need.
    thanx ray

oh yeah...i had that problem too...i had to weld a nut to a largewasher then weld the washer to the tank and then i put a brass fitting into the nut... then connected the hose to the fitting... if you have a welder its an easy fix...

They did change the vent. Yours probably has a 1 1/4 hole. You should be able to get the vent and grommet from Ford. Grommet-F6TZ9B076AA, Vent Valve-E7DZ9B593A.

As usual the maverick guys come through again. I went to the local ford dealer today and bought the parts that Dennis said i needed. They did the job. Thanx Dennis.
