i'm planning on leaving for the gathering on sunday the 15th. my route takes me from az. on I-10, 540 miles to texas...421 miles to ft worth on I-20, then 361 miles on I-30 into arkansas, then 337 miles to nashville on I-40, and finally 124 miles on I-65 to ky. i've left out some of the smaller stuff, but what i was wondering is are there any areas i should worry about along the way. been hearing a lot about storms and flooding. don't want to take any chances. thanks for the help.
North Texas has been getting a lot of rain lately. I was in Grand Prarie last week [between Dallas and Ft Worth] and they had some street flooding. You will probably be fine on the Interstates, they are built up more that the other roads and streets in Texas. Just watch your speed in Arkansas and Tennessee, and watch your road signs in Memphis. A lot of construction and easy to take the wrong road in Memphis.
that's why i'm trying to buy a house in show low. was 90 there last weekend and down in the 50's at night.
As long as you stay on the interstate you'll be fine. We've had alot of flooding and construction near dallas but none on I-20.
Don, Here's a link to what amounts to a bunch more links pertaining to road conditions (construction, closing, etc) that might help. LINK Happy trails, my friend.
it is in the white mountains in eastern az. was up there last weekened. it was beautiful the whole time.
made an offer on a house yesterday. now it's wait and see. show low got its name because it was won by a guy in a poker game called show low back in the olden days.
