I just got back last night from Fall Carlisle Show where I picked up my rechromed front bumper. I know there has been alot of bad feedback for the Bumper Boyz but they did a great job for me. Just thought some of you would like to know they might not be what they used to be. Can't wait to bolt this baby on!!!

They are located in Southern California. Dan I hope your right. I got off the phone last night with the guy who owns Stovebolt (6cyl carbs and stuff) and he said he has had five bumpers done by Bumper Boyz and all of them the chrome starts to fall off at about the 2 year mark. I guess I will cross my fingers and hope for the best.

In my experience, no aftermarket chrome job is as durable as factory. Alot of it also depends on whether the rechrome is installed on a daily driver that sits outside exposed to the elements, or is a showcar stored inside and never really exposed to the weather. Some of the "local" chrome shops offer guarantees, though, so you can often have them rechromed for free if they do discolor or peel.

The chrome on my Bumper Boyz bumper flaked off after 3 months. They chromed right over the rust, no copper plating! I called to complain, they said they would replace it but I had to pay shipping both ways between Pennsylvania and Cali.
