New rear, shocks, PST bushings and four leafs from ESPO. Was told by ESPO the the new springs would NOT raise the rear more than 1/4" Well..... After getting the P275-60-15's to fit in the wheel wells I am very upset that the wheel wells are now 2" over the tires!!! Ideas? I know I can have them re-arched(a lot of work to remove them again) I have heard of lowering blocks, are they safe? For the strip? Will the springs "settle"? Scotty P:(

Been there. As a matter of fact, I'm still there. Lowering blocks are your only answer short of rearching. I put a 1" set on mine and still needs to come down at least another 1". I havent had them rearched for the same reason. I dont feel like taking the car apart. The 1 " didnt have any adverse effect when I ran mine on the strip but I wouldn't feel comfortable with another 1" block in there. I'm sure it would work ok but I wont try it. One day I'll take it apart and have them rearched. Mine have been on for about 1 1/2 yrs now and they havent settled yet. Then again, I've only driven mine a little over 1000 miles.

I got the same exact springs in my car and they did settle a bit. Here is what they look like about five months later of everyday driving. The car has 235 60 14s in back.

    removing leaf

Won't that soften the spring? I went to 4leaf for the stiffness. I emailed ESPO, I am a bit ticked that they told me no raise in heigth. Mine is not a daily driver so it could take a long time to "settle" Errrrrr Scotty

Don't know if it's what you want to do or not but......when I set the rear of my car up with the ladderbars and coilovers I picked up a set of lowering blocks and u bolts from Auto Zone for just over $20 (2") I used them to achieve the ride height I wanted then welded my ladderbars in place then removed the leafs then welded in my coilovers......I would think if you ran somthing like the caltracs that you should'nt have any problems.......another plus was that they came with a size larger u bolt set......you just have to drill the holes in your lower pads....

yea go with the leaf removal.....being a 4wd buff too i can tell you that rearched springs weaken in about a year in a truck.. the heating of the metal chages its properties and losses some of the "spring" affect, they will never be the same....you could also make another pair of shakles shorter and as the spring settles over time you could always put the right ones back in it

Mine settled over two years to just about even with the front. Not a daily driver but still street driven often.

I've never had trouble with the 2 inch blocks I have in my car . I have 1/2 U bolts holding everything together and the blocs where made from 3/16 material .
