Forgive me everyone for I have sinned... I went out and bought a
    1966 THUNDERCHICKEN today.
My only saving grace will be that its gonna be used to tow the Mav to meets over a couple of hundred miles away:clap:
Its a Landau edition with every available option for that model year. 390 with 4 barrel C-6, 9" rear end and dual exhaust.
I hope to have it worthy enough to pull the Mav by round-up time.
    A couple of pics.
Oh..it has 60,000 original miles on it and had been sittin in a garage for 20 years

Say four Hail Mavericks and all will be forgivin. Really though, no sin, it's still a Ford and they didn't make a Mav in 66 so your safe. Way cool ride. Russ

    Whew...thought I would be condemned to the gallows for this...:D :D .
I have always thought the interiors of these cars were the greatest thing.
Most of the work on the car is gonna have to be done to the body, dings, dents and patch panels on the rear quarters and of course a paint job.
Everything works on the car and it runs and drives.
For 800 bucks couldnt see how I could go wrong.
Thast a cruise control button the steering wheel:clap:

Nice Car, that's how I ended with the grabber, my 17 yr old, got a 66 T-bird also, the best place for parts has been the T-birds nest in Portland Oregon, they also have an interesting web site telling you all of their shortcomings like going into gear by themselves, and having to hold the selector lever up so it will start, we paid $1,800, and so far have invested $1,000 to get it driveable for him, I paid $2,500 for the Grabber and have spent close to that myself for new rubber, tune-up, redone the exhaust system, it never seems to end, anyway they are both still alot of fun for him and I, Good luck on your new ride, and if you have time check out the T-birds nest. Marty

    Too Cool!

I think you got a good deal on that one!! Thunderbirds are very cool cars, and like they said, it's a FORD, so no harm done. Congrats on another good find!! Country
