Well yesterday morning i went out to the campus parking lot to find that someone had broke into my maverick and vandalized my stereo and interior with some sort of crazy glue. To say the least, I was P. O.ed  , i just wanna find out who did it.. but anyways my stereo is ruined, but also my carpet in the front is in really bad shape and there is no cleaning this stuff up. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on where i can find some replacement carpet.....

    thanks,
    Jess

AutoKrafters carries carpeting for Mavericks and so does Auto Custom Carpets. In fact, AutoKrafters gets thier carpeting from Auto Custom Carpets. Depending on how much glue is on your carpet, there may be a way to remove it. Spray WD-40 on the glue and let it soak. The WD-40 will soften the glue so you can pull it up out of the carpet with a rag. You might have to work at it for a while, but it's far cheaper than the cost of a new carpet. I've used this trick when detailing customer's cars and it has always worked for me. The WD-40 will also remove tar from carpeting too. You will have to shampoo the carpet when your done.

You could try nail polish remover as well.Smells worse than WD 40 though.Just be careful with it,the acetone will discolor stuff if you leave it sit for long.Good luck.

thanks for the tips, i'll try everything and hopefully something may work. i found out what type of glue it was and it deosn't sound good, its elmer's ultimate glue, this is what the site said when it comes to removal

"How do I remove Ultimate Glue?
When polyurethane glue has dried it becomes resistant to all chemicals and solvents. The only removal process available for that product is sanding or scraping."

    darn! haha

There is nothing more chicken$#!+ than messing with someone's property rather than square off face to face with someone you have a problem with. I feel for you. I hope he gets what he deserves. That said, you might want to turn that stereo down, ease off the pedal a bit. I'm installing a stereo system now, and I have no intention of playing it at peak volume anywhere but the freeway, I don't want to advertise what I've got anywhere in my neighborhood. Hopefully, no one will notice and will stay away from my deck. I'm hoping too that my old chrome knobs work on my new deck, maybe people will look and think it's still the old Philco and keep walking.

Let us know what carpet kit you go with, always good to have feedback on a product, I'm in the market myself. Good luck! (y)
