i need some maverick expert advice, im having trouble with my front suspencion, it sounds like i have a busted shock but i have replaced it for a new one, i have also changed the upper control arm bushings and the lower ball joints and it still has the same issue,
What does it sound like a clunk or a sweak? Did you check your spring perches they make weird noises. If their bad they can clunk or make your spring have a clunk sound or sweak. Good Luck!
Check your frame ,exhaust, linkage, or anything else that may be rubbing. How we making out on the grille?
Hi Ives, You might also check the sway bar bushings. I had this issue when I first bought my '73 Maverick. The rubber bushing that goes around the sway bar was completely gone. My car had a metal-to-metal "clunk" each time I went over a bump in the road. These rubber bushings are available at most any auto parts store and are cheap. I hope this helps, BaldEagleMav
everything else looks ok, do you think it might be a bushing that might be bad. are coil springs suppose to have something like rubbers on the ends?
i think im suffering from the same problem myself going over bumps. i thought it was all the rust and tthe bumper was banging(back when it was big bumpered) it wasnt, so i greased everything and changed all 4 shocks and it still does it. could it be a ball joint?
i tried all new shocks upper control arm bushings upper ball joint sway bar bushings now i might try the lower ball joints, hopefully it works. the right side sounds alot better when i changed the upper control arm bushings, i dont know what is going on to the left side...
its mostly the passengerside for me. i can live with it i just dont want to get stuck somewhere ya know it makes like a hard nock sound but it also rattles too my engine mounts are kinda new too so hopefully thats not the issue
after reading that other post i think i need to greese those spots behind the shock tower. i know i missed those when i greesed everything else.
