I want to put a 73 dash in my 72 because of the glove box. Were are the bolts in the top located and does the speedo need to be disconected from the back under the dash to get it out. Thank you for any info. Paul

The top bolts are under the windshield weather stripping. They are a major pain in the ass to remove while the windshield is installed. I havent been able to get them out but I believe someone has stated they did. If your weatherstripping is dry rotted, order up a new gasket, cut out the old one, and remove the winshield. Then removing the dash is a piece of cake. You do have to disconnect the speedometer cable as well as control cables for the heater and wiring harnesses.

:D paul," major pain" the steering column will need to be dropped down also. i just took the glove box out of my 73' and put the 71' tray in. all of this bolts on from under the dash. if they are the same color that would save you a lot of work. jmo...frank...:bananaman :bananaman

I agree with Frank. Swap the lower dash panels and it will be much easier. Just dye/paint them to match the dash you're putting them on.

Will the 73 bolt up to the 72 without any problems?

 paul, i think the only thing i had to swap was the dash mounting brackets at each end of the dash. just use the 73' brackets. if you don't have them i have a set...frank...:bananaman :bananaman
