Pinks all out will be at Norwalk, Summit, in June. Monday at noon they will be taking preregistration. Has anybody went through this? I'm getting my sister to go on line for me. Only thing I know is car has to be door car an run quicker then 12.99. Just not sure what other info they need. Hoping to get the Maverick in it!
We took a buddies car to the one in Tucson just two weeks ago. There was way too much drama. Rich Christenson came out after the first 50 cars ran and claimed that everyone was sandbagging and trying to run 10's. Ok, let's forget the fact he's not a racer and until he was cast on this show he didn't even know what drag racing was. Complete and utter bull. Not one person that I met there slowed their car down. So they reran 100 cars again (they were actually on the second 50 when he came out and we were #320) even though there was no proof. Then to prove a point, they picked a 12.20 class. We went out there with the idea that it was a 1 in 400 chance of making the show, so we didn't have any grand plans on making it. But our car runs an honest high 10 and has been for over a year now. I feel that we were unfairly judged for the sake of ratings and to make a point. The four of us that went down there decided that we wouldn't do it again unless it was right at our local track. Additionally there was too much sitting around waiting. A fun test and tune or bracket race would have been much better.
yeah. that show is a waste of time imo. however 2 of my friends were in the final at tucson and one walked away with $10k. tony, did tony run about .3 slower there than firebird?
I was also in tucson and as tony said it is very drawn out and all about the show. i don't remember what you need to pre enter. Our track had a link to a form but it was to enter for pinks and our big buck race that we had on sunday. Even though i didn't make the show they did interview my family so you may get to see a maverick on pinks. Just not racing. We had just put a 347 in the car and were working out some tuning issues. We have now gone 11.06 in Las Vegas. btw they said the tucson show will air sometime around february for those of you that watch it.
Yeah Don, almost exactly to the number. We had to rejet to get it there though. We also hung around for the big dollar race the next day...that was fun until our driver red-lit second round. Oh well that's what happens when you don't race for almost two months. Oh did I mention that the car is painted now Don? In Rich's defense, he's actually a nice guy when you meet him in person. He doesn't come across as such a bad guy when he's away from the cameras. I think that it's all about the show and putting in as much drama as possible. Personally I think Pinks and Pinks all out would both be better shows if they just let the cars be the stars and try not to inject all this friction between the drivers. Drag racers just aren't like that. Now circle track guys on the other hand...don't get me started!
yeah, you told me it was pinted. looking forward to seeing it. btw, i think the king of the track race at firebird has been rescheduled for dec. 22.
I tried to register for Pinks all out today (not for me for a friend) and i coulden't get through. The server was so busy it kept kicking me out.At 1:45 it finally let me in and it was full.Oh well try for New Jersy in January.
I was on the phone 12-2:15, sister was on computer till then, my buddy tried calling, his daughter on computer same time. Finally, 2:15 I got through an Norwalk said they sold out in twelve minutes!
Yeah, the spots go quickly. Good luck with NJ, I hope you make it! Hey Don, I heard that...we are planning on being there.
I even had the three parts guys at work and my boss trying to get through all with no luck.Well since you probably won't get to see it on TV heres the car that we wanted to enter.
