Look for a screw at the top right side somewhere. I did the heater core in the '72 about a year ago, damn if I can remember exactly what I did. I know there is a screw somewhere up there that is easy to miss.

    Heater Core

I just had the Heater core replaced in my '97 F150 to the tune of over $700.00.

When I did mine, I did take the whole box out of car, 4 bolts engine side. That way you can see clips an all much better. Aftermarket core did not fit 100%, did find a FoMoCo and fit much better

Well my heater core is out, and now I have a busted up heater box. Whats a good way to patch it back together, I was thinking some fiberglass & resin.

I busted mine up too. I used some two part epoxy resin to glue it back together. Auto parts stores sell it in kits to repair bumper covers on newer cars and stuff. Worked great.

I also agree with Frank, go ahead and replace the heater hoses to the heater core while you have it apart.

Lol. I replaced mine last weekend. My car has ac too so it was a pain.
I busted up the box getting it apart, but used some two part epoxy to glue it back together.

JB Weld is excellent for patching it back together.
