    Hello to all,

First time user. I have a 74 302 Maverick. The dash lights are really dim at night. I have replaced the bulbs with new L194 bulbs with no difference. Has anyone else had this issue and repaired it? Does anyone know what to check? Thanks, Les

    :Welcome:

Where abouts in GA are you?

I believe the L194 is just a "long life" standard 194 bulb. I am running the GE W5W bulbs in my instrument cluster and side marker lights. They are higher wattage, and much brighter.

I'm not too far from you, I'm over right near Lawrenceville. Sounds like you fit in perfect with the GA crew, owning multiple Mav's and all. :)

There are quite a few of us here in GA messing with these cars. We have several get togethers throught out the year where we get together and eat, BS, and usually cruise to a local car show. The forums over at dixiemaverick.com has the details about our next get together, which is this Saturday. You are welcome to come, and bring your car!

Thanks Jamie, I'll look into it. Not sure yet if I have to work or not. I need to meet you guys though. I got a note from a guy at the Moonshine festival in Dawsonville but i wasn't able to get in touch with him yet. There was a really nice blue Maverick there. Way outta my league. Possibly with time. Mine looks like a Grandma car. Not very attractive but it is one. I've liked them since they came out. My Mom bought a new Blue 6 cyl Maverick in 1970. Eventually, I will find or make one like hers but with a V8. I looked at the website yesterday for events. I guess i was in the wrong place. I'll take another look.
