There is no age limit in some areas of Kalifornica.
Even some of the 65 Mustangs have to have added controls and pass tests.

    Welcome aboard!
Hopefully someone can help you here. We have a lot of members from Cali...maybe one of those guys out there can chime in and help or give you some pointers on how to get the car to pass. I know it's been discussed a time or two. Good luck.

The hood on my 69 1/2 was from a 76 with a 250. I'll check today and see if the sticker is on it.

you should have an belt driven air pump on the drivers side of the block with a black hose comming off of it and going into the exhause manifold on the passengerside. i dont think any of the vac lines play an important role in tail pipe emissions.

you still have a catalytic converter hooked up right?

might also be time to adjust the carburator too. when you go through to get checked make sure the engine is hot and run the lowest octane fuel you can that day. a few bottles of gas line anti-frze will help too

I have the hose for the air pump hooked up.that is not my problem.
It passed the tail pipe readings . it was the visual inspection of
the vacuum hoses . To the egr valve and vacuum advance to the distriduter. That is why it did not pass.when i hooked them up it
would not run.It was built federal not califorina emissions.

the egr plugs into a vac port on the side of the intake manifold i believe, foward of the carburator. the vac advance goes from the dizzy to a port on the carburator.

why it wouldnt run tho, i cant answer that one
