Car is finally back on all four wheels. After doing the mustang2 swap there is a buttload of room in the engine bay now. I went ahead and put the 2inch drop spindles on after I already cut the springs...I'll be getting some different springs later. I've got a crapload more work ahead of me but it feels good to get this far. I have to thank Cleaver for all of his help.
is it just me or is that header on backwards even at that it takes a lot of room to do that... the writeup to follow... frank
Cool... what crossmember did you use? Looks like stock Ford suspension parts. I keep thinking more and more about doing a Mustang II front on my car. Will never be running a big block, but I can think of a couple of modern V6's I would love to run that are physically damn near as big as a big block. I have a complete 3.0 Duratec V6 from my mom's Lincoln LS in my shed that just needs the bottom end gone through to solve a knock it had.
doesnt really look like a butt load of room between the exhaust mainifold and the shock tower... maybe this is a bad picture angle to see the "extra room"
stock crossmember, I used fox mustang mounting so I can bolt in anything from a 2.3t to a 460. It will get a turdblow i mean turbo
that car is going to go real fast in reverse. i like the wheels. they look good with the discs behind them.
Will,I just did 2 Must II fronts,my own Mav. and a customers,I am just starting to figure out steering shaft out of stock columun to rack with Borgenson joints and double D shaft, could you exsplain what you did on the column side, save me a bunch of time ,Thanks Jack
Hey Jack, first off I wanted to use a rag joint since I'll be driving on the street 95% of the time. I used a factory fox mustang rag joint, all I ended up doing was trimming a tab off and cutting the 3/4 shaft down some and drill the bolt holes on the column slightly bigger. After that bolted up I got some 3/4 shaft and 2 universals, cut to length and tada!
