Hi Gang, ****SEE UPDATE POST BELOW!**** 2/9/08 After a LOOOOONG absence I have "actively" returned to the Maverick Forum. I was very prolific here in the "Early Days" in the '90's but life's up n downs kept me quite busy outside my Maverick hobby. Enough about me already...today on my way home from work I spotted a '73 Grabber for sale near my home and naturally I stopped to have a quick look. VIN tags shows 3K93F****** (originally a V8 car) and the Mirrors and Spoiler are there but not the original paint (currently Blue w/o stripes). Appears to be a 'recovered' Blue bench seat interior (Tooled Vinyl not there) and column shift. That's about as much as I can tell you from my 5 minute roadside "lookover". Shows some age and has minor rust in the lower doors, that I can see but looked to be relatively straight. Asking Price was $1000, it's not my car but wanted to pass it along to anyone that may be interested...my "stable" is too full to bring it home. (Not to mention the wife gave me a REALLY nasty look when I mentioned it!) ;^P Ron S.
sounds like a decent deal. i'd like to have the VIN and door tag info for the '73 Registry if there's any way you could obtain it
Where in the Bay Area is it? Anywhere near Santa Rosa/Sebastopol? Any indication of original color? My stable is pretty full, but you never know....
Corbin, It's located in Martinez...no indication externally of original color but I'd bet it was Grabber Blue since it has a Blue interior. Ron S
I did another "drive by" today. The body seems straight overall, some visible rust in the outer corners of the lower part of doors (typical). Some damage to the LR lower quarter panel (wheel came off?). Headlight trim ring missing on LF. Black Grille looks complete. Sorry no pics or data plate numbers but I'll supply the Phone # privately to anyone really interested in buying. I don't want to be an annoying "looky lew".
