From a Bronco, unspecified year. Clearly 9", housing only, no chunk. It is free. Should I take it? Should I use it for my car or take it to the swap meet?
Only reason I ask is because I don't have room to store it. So I would have to do something with it soon. Got a swap meet coming up in 2 weeks, and if I could unload it there, it would be worth my while. If I could rebuild it to fit my car, then I would keep it. I was wondering...if this guy is just giving it away, is it even worth anything, or are they a dime a dozen?
I wasn't really all that interested when he said it. Got to thinking this morning that if I could turn around and sell it and make a few bucks, it would be worth my while to pick it up.
I think it's worth grabbing and finding out what exactly you have. You never know, what you have may not like the new ponys. And then you have the swap meet where you can unload it even for free if nothing else...
Really, $20 is about it? Then it isn't worth getting my hands dirty for, and scratching the bed of my truck... Now, $50, and I might take the time to pick it up. Oh, it is worth THAT much, is it?
hey i sell 9" housing for $100 thru my shop all the time. so get it. you could have narrowed (got to 65 mustang length) the get off the shelf axles and go get a "chunk" at the swap meet.
If it comes out of the smaller Bronco ('66-'77), it's only about 2 inches longer than a Maverick 8 inch. Just move the spring perches and it should work fine in a Maverick. If it's from the '78 and later Broncos, it will be too long to fit a Maverick without mods.
