I was driving down E. 10th st. in Indianapolis Sunday and stopped at a red light in front of a Starbucks (seemed like a hilarious place for a Starbucks in the middle of a freakin' ghetto). As I was sitting at the light I noticed this small bumpered Maverick sitting behind the Starbucks. Shocked the heck out of me, a Maverick was about the last thing I expected to see (some dead bodies or drug deals going down are more likely in that area). Anyway, I was able to snap a couple quick pictures of the car, just figured I would post them. There was some guy who came out and got in the car as I circled around the back of the building to get another picture, but I would rather not get shot, so I just snapped the front pic from a distance and drove on.

Looks like a nice straight little car, I've been downtown Indy before, I know what you mean.

Downtown isn't bad at all. It's the area circling downtown that you have to watch out for. The worst spot in downtown is the parking garages. Little bastards like to hide in there and steal purses from little old ladies going to the mall.

That's a nice little car, looks well cared for.

I drive past a 4 door (never moves) and a small bumper 2 door painted primer red on my way to church every week. The 2 door actually looks like a pretty cool car.

I lived in Phoenix Az for a year. A friend I made out there always talked about how bad the hoods were out there. I said you haven't be to the Nati dawg.:rofl2: He came and I took him down to the "Row" The row will have thousands of less than respactable people lining the street on a good night. I told him you will see st least 2 beat downs as we drive by.We saw 3:D. He was locking his door in a hurry and begging we leave right now. I had my gun so wasnlt to worried. They saw us as potential clients:idea: They want our money. We passed through unscathed.

I saw a small bumpered Mav yesterday, too. Same color as the one you saw. It was at Sheetz in Roanoke, VA. There was an old man with a cane driving it. I started to talk to him, but he didn't seem to be in a very good mood, so I let it go. His looked pretty good, too. Looked like original paint--My first Mav was a 1970 with that orange paint they called Vermillion--I am pretty sure that is what his was. Other than dull paint (from age) and a rusty bit of trim, it looked pretty good. :)

My grandma lives on the east side of Indianapolis (my grandpa passed away in '04). She still lives in the same house she has lived in since 1960, my dad and his brothers all grew up there. Her house, built in 1836, is still pretty nice, while all the other "newer" houses around it are well past their prime. Most of the houses around hers were leveled by Tornado's in the early 1900's, when they rebuilt the area, they changed the direction of the streets, so while most houses face the street, hers sits an an angle to the street. Most of the streets around there are filled with burned out and and boarded up houses, with some burned out cars for good measure. The whole area is a mess, certainly don't want to drive around at night without your doors locked. I guess it was a much nicer area when they moved there in 1960. I took a bunch of pics of the old "Miles house", I guess I'll make a photobucket account or something to upload them to. It's a neat old house, though the old cloth covered wiring is a little scary.. The whole house is ran by an old screw in style 15 amp fuse. Don't turn off a light switch while touching something that is grounded! Of course I had to get a pic of the same place where my dad's Comet was sitting when he took pics of it back in 1985.
