It has a 3/8" hole, so it is -6AN, but instead of a rubber fuel line inside, it has a harder plastic hose. The outer diameter of the line is a little smaller than the 3/8 fuel line also. Got about 15 feet of it for $10 at the swap meet. Guy said it was used on his nitrous system... Any idea what it is and what it is good for? I was thinking of using it on the last foot or two on my trans cooler, if it is compatible.
So they should stand up to the "abuse" the trans fluid will give them? I cut my trans cooler lines just behind the radiator, and have been using 3/8" fuel line for a couple years, but I hear that they will eventually eat through it. I am hoping I can use this line 1) for better looks and 2) it won't deteriorate from the fluid contact.
See alot of that stuff used on hydralic applications so i would say yes it should work fine for trans/fuel systems.
scooper, probably PTFE (teflon) or one of the other poly lines. Should be ok for your tranny lines. Industry uses them alot. They may require special fittings, ask a tech rep (Summit?).
It feels like a teflon, and it did crush and crack at the end where I cut off the fitting. The fittings were not like NAFORD sent me. These were more like a hydraulic fitting. Hotrod-daddy, do you need this stuff?
