    The only way to tell for sure is to contact Marti and get one of his reports. There is nothing in the VIN or trim codes. All Stallion trim was blacked out.

    welcome abord

    is there any paint left in the door jams or places likr that to clue you in on its original color? another thing that has me confused is if the car has been painted how are the stallion emblems still visable?

    anyway, good luck with it. hope to see some updates as to what you find out

    6 = 1976 model year
    K = Kansas City, MO assembly plant.
    91 = Two door non Grabber Maverick.
    F = 302 2v V8 engine.
    189415 = 89,415th car scheduled for production at the Kansas City plant for the 1976 model year.

    If you have any other codes off the door tag, we can help with those also. :Welcome:

    Is the decklid underneath flat black? Lots of cars that get repainted dont repaint that area, could be a clue. Also, my car wears its original stallion decals and has been painted twice, takes very very good masking skills.

    The car looks to be a regular 1976 Maverick. No Stallion came with a tan interior. They only had black interiors. Stallions also never had any of the MAVERICK emblems on the fenders. The STALLION decals are not only in the wrong place, ( probably because of the body side moldings, something else Stallions did not have ) they are pointing in the wrong direction. The horse head should be facing toward the front of the car. Even if it's not a Stallion, the car appears to be in pretty good shape. What are your plans for it?
