What kind of carb/ignition are you running.Do you have mech fuel pump or electric??? Could be fuel delivery carb too lean If its a holley you may have popped the power valve when it back fired and now it just pours fuel into the engine could be ingnition timing is not set properly Heck it may have hung an intake valve open are you getting a good strong (blue) spark??
75 replacement mech fuel pump/holley4160(r6919)/stock duraspark ign i played around with the fuel level/idle screws/ignition and nothing i'm going to check out the power valve i have to replaced it anyways i have a 6.5 instead of a 10.5 hope its not a valve...didnt check the spark. thanks
Make sure the fuel pump is working.Make sure you have good spark.Make sure you are getting proper voltage to the coil and the coil is good.Seems like its flooded out.You may want to pull the plugs and dry em out.Good luck.
Listen to uncle, wise he is.You cant throw a perfectly good car in the ocean unless its a chevy!!! they will never be good let alone perfect.Good luck.Pete
my uncle said he change it when he owned it (about 12yrs ago) but it probally jumped...when i get my tax return i'm putting in a new cam, lifters, balancer.
